Welcome new office manager As many of you at the Albemarle studio may have noticed, Miss Hillary is no longer wiith us. We will miss her very much but she has purchased a home near Charlotte and time constraints with her full time job made it impossible for her to continue with AAD.
We're sure she will stop by from time to time to check in on the students.
We are have Jessy Page as the new office manager. Jessy was born and raised in Stanly county and is thrilled to once again be a part of AAD. Jessy began dancing with us at a young age and studied for many years. She recently graduated froms Queens University with a degree in psychology and is currently pursuing a certification in yoga. Jessy is an avid 'recycler' and co-ordinates marketing and developement for 'Green Pieces' . Jessy will be at the Albemarle studio Monday through Thursday and is available to answer any questions that you may have concerning registration, fees and accounts for both studios. She will be happy to schedule appointments for teacher conferences and co-ordinate make-up classes as well as placing orders for items from the Ballet Boutique. Miss Jessy hopes to soon offer yoga classes, please let us know if you're interested. We are happy to have Miss Jessy, please take a moment to welcome her to AAD. |

What We're Learning The dance students have enjoyed learning about ballet history during the last month. Students learned that in early ballet, dancers wore masks to depict the characters. Our young students decorated plates at home to depict themselves and were very creative! We have added string and transformed the plates into masks that they will be taking home this week.
Our modern dance students have been studying the Lester Horton technique and are beginning their choreography projects. They will begin studying the Jose Limon technique in November.
Our tumbling students have been honing their acrobatics skills and working to increase strength and flexability.
The theatre and voice students are working on vocal exercises, tongue twisters and improvisation.
All of the classes are learning and improving each week!
The students will, of course, soon be hearing "Nutcracker" music and learning about this classical ballet. Students will also begin learning about the self-discipline and dance etiquette required of performers. | |
|
As always, we value your questions and comments and appreciate being able to educate you or your child in the performing arts!!
Sincerely,
AAD Staff | | |
